THE BIG THREE – ESSENTIALS OF HEALTH AND CARE ANALYTICS AND WHAT DOES THIS REALLY MEAN FOR CHANGING HEALTH BEHAVIOUR?

Health and care in the UK and globally is changing rapidly. The emergence of powerful new technologies and analytics capabilities provide the potential to understand ‘Population Health’ from new perspectives and deliver well being in radically different ways. However with new capabilities come new levels of risk as data proliferates and responsibility for decision making shifts from expert to patient groups and their members. Could the result be fragmentation rather than integration?

This breakfast session will consider the promise of population health and the benefits planned to come through investment in the big three essentials that will really make it work; better business intelligence, ensuring and trusting a single source of truth and near patient testing. We’ll hear about lessons available from the private sector where the use of unstructured data gleaned from and through social media has driven growth of whole new sectors based on new consumer behaviors and led to the demise of others. We’ll also explore whether some of the pitfalls experienced in other sectors can be avoided or managed better by analytics practitioners in the health and care

The event is likely to be of interest to analytics practitioners, policy makers, SME’s with an interest in the sector and larger companies wishing to know about thought leading ideas in Leeds in the field of HealthCare Analytics.

The speakers will be Dr Jason Broch, GP and CCIO of Leeds Health and Care will describe the promise of population health and the plans to develop this capability. He will be joined by Peter Laflin a Data Scientist from Bloom Agency who will describe how many of the capabilities required are already in place in consumer markets in the private sector and the learning that has been gained from creating these.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A as well as networking over a light breakfast.

Audience: The event is likely to be of interest to citizens, analytics practitioners, policy makers, SME’s with an interest in the sector and larger companies wishing to know about thought leading ideas in Leeds in the field of HealthCare Analytics and data science.
